When I first moved to Toronto years ago, I used to work as a security guard at different downtown venues.

One night, across the way at the Ricoh Coliseum, I was on search at the door, for a Slipknot concert, and I’d forgotten my gloves :S
Gwen Stefani smiled at me once, and it’s amazing how pumped people get for Nickelback. Saw Adele before she was Adele, the former head coach of the Raptors gave me a locker room coke, and I once escorted ACDC to their van without realizing it.
When Elton John was here, that was me, in the centre of the arena, sitting on a speaker guarding the sound mixer. David Furnish sat beside me for a bit, he has a nice air about him. Britney Spears was the only shift I ever requested.
Three days at the Royal Agricultural Fair feels like forever, this job really slowed down time.
And no, I don’t want your guitar pick.
The perks of this job were lost on me, since I rarely listen to music. Mostly I’d ask to be assigned to the quietest, remote corner, and read.

Daydreamed a night just like this, all summer.
Finished work Saturday and closed my laptop for a minute. Picked up a 2014 Mazda MX-5 AKA Miata, for the trip north.

Non-car nerds: Alex Tagliani is one of Canada’s most beloved racers.
He blew up in 90s, and has been killing it since. He races for Honda in the IndyCar series.
He wouldn’t remember, but we met last year. I arrived at Honda HQ to pick up a Fit, and accidentally walked into a meet & greet.

3 weeks on the road is too much.
Mega-decompression weekend; jogging pants only, with plenty of quietness, little talking, ahhh. Feeling back to normal, puffier, not haggard and melted.
#SundayCleaning, did some sewing, main-lined episodes of Community, and kicked off my blog re-build.
For the past couple months, the new frame has been being built, and now it’s at that juncture where only I can move the project forward. The list is daunting. Every bullet you point you see above is 2 hours, anyway. Sidebars are a time suck. Yesterday I wrote 8 ‘About’ pages omg.
Part of this re-build, is to clean up my social media accounts; so bad I’m wearing a winter jacket in my Twitter, and my LinkedIn is the world’s worst, doesn’t say auto journalist, or even KeriBlog.com I think.
Filming a car meetup this week; my Mustang review ran last week (I’ll blog it); and because I flew home Wednesday, it’s just my Jetta, back to schedule asap. This week’s column is about buying cars in bulk.
