Google Result for 'The Canadian Explorer'

There I am among those mighty explorers!

That second row photo… of all the photos to rank YES that one.

When I saved this screenshot, I named the file: CDN Explorer Search BOOM

Wait it gets better… the top photo is me exploring… my new haircut HAHA those guys trekked cross country forever… and the bottom photo is another “here’s my hair” post.

Here’s the Google search.

Hair by Brennen Demelo

One more thing.. for the longest time last year when you searched ‘KeriCDN’ the first image was a …. FinalCut file HA.

In serious though, my stuff is a mess, all of it.  It needs a good spring cleaning.  Before I do that I’ve been mulling over a video, documenting just HOW bad it is… it’s probably wrong I find it so funny.

If You’ve Never Blogged…

There are 3 things to know:

1 – Bloggers have good work ethics and problem-solving brains

2 – They spend a lot of time alone; it’s a solitary endeavour, blogging

3 – It’s the invisible in-between stuff that is most frustrating

If ever you see two people finding out the other also blogs, and they exchange a sort of nod, this is what they’re nodding about.

What’s the invisible in-between stuff?

Kay, let’s post a slideshow.  I need one for my new professional photos, thanks Suzy.

First, I need some software to make one. Start researching what works best with WordPress.

Looks like, of all the internet, there’s two real contenders. So choose one, download then upload the plugin, learn it, insert the code.

You might break your own site:

Back and forth between the help file, Google searches and the software. We’re over an hour by now.

Now the photos are too giant and need resizing.

They won’t open in your budget Photoshop version, so find a workaround, which no way will support batch-editing that would be ‘catching a break’, so one by one here we go…

By now you’ll likely look and feel like this.

Oh what?  YouTube has stopped working?

Set the slideshow aside, this needs to be fixed right now… (go ‘Get Info’ on Safari in your Finder and choose 32-bit, restart Safari).

Back to the slideshow… check test refresh…. check test refresh….. check test refresh….

All to post photos and talk about …. yourself.

This is what’s behind the blogs you visit, so now you have a better idea of what it takes to post whatever it is you’re looking at.

The end.

PS – don’t forget… that’s great your post is done and looking good, but if no one sees it, what’s the point?  And and aaaaannnndddd………

PPS – I lost the edited draft of this post and had to write it twice. Oh irony.

Happy #pcto2011 To You

I’ve enjoyed #PodCamp Toronto every year I go. Know how you know it’s a nice crowd? I’ll bet all the jackets were there at the end of the day.

I toured through several pods…that’s Lauren O’nizzle waxing eloquently on social media…that’s good advice about sub-titling your YouTube videos.

He’s totally right, YouTube is right behind Google as a top-used search-engine. I’m the WORST for all that stuff. Ever seen my Canadian Explorer YouTube? Good luck finding anything… I can’t, and I own it.

It’s the between-the-sessions stuff and meet ups that are always the best part of these things, and thanks to all the volunteers for putting on a great event.

You’d think I’d have-self-portraits down by now.  I took two to avoid this.

This is THE Marketing Conference to Attend

It’s the Art of Marketing at the MTCC March 7.

I’ve been invited to attend, and click here for the KeriBlog $50 off promo so you can come, too! We can hang out with other marketing people and trade tips.

I’m most excited to hear these three speak:

Guy Kawasaki because hellooooo Cheif Evangelist of Apple, and specifically, he’ll discuss, “how to influence what people will do while maintaining the highest standards of ethics”.

Avinash Kaushik because analytics and are so interesting, and something I would like to be better at.  And Avinash’s thing is you can do it in a hour/day, which is great because there is never enough time.  Oh time.

And oooooof course Gary Vaynerchuk.

Remember that time I interviewed Gary?  Love him.

Hope to see you there, learning is fun and if you see me yell hi!!

(don’t forget to use this code to register and save 50 bucks).

Took A Little Break from my Blog

Since Saturday.  Sometimes I just like to, sometimes I don’t feel like putting things online, so I don’t.

It always passes and I love it again, which is now.

So Hi!

Some things you missed… I dressed quietly like this, and randomly, was driven a lot.

One of My Top 5 Things to Do Ever – Sit cross-legged eating red candy while being driven around looking at stuff

A fancy BFF dinner.

I could have ordered pasta with squid ink. And look at that top menu item under “Chef’s Play”… sorry for the grainy photo, yes I did.

Went to another Hacks & Hackers event.  There was some ScribbleLive which is sick, that’s a great chat by Allison Martell about statistical data analysis, and remember that photo-incident in the Metro, and how well they handled it? This is Chris telling that story.

I remember that well, it was kinda like a “thing” on Twitter. Twitter was different back then.

There’s a huge conference coming up if you’re into online marketing anything… The Art of Marketing… March 7 at the MTCC.  I’ll tell ya more about it soon, but Guy Kawasaki, Gary Vee, it’s gonna be great.

Found that sword, put in car.

From February 2011

Pretty things from Valentine’s Day.

Which I still think is dumb…………. it just makes a lot of people feel bad.

Next video is likely, “The Trash Couture Photoshoot at an Airbase” (working title), TTYS!
