The Original KeriBlog.com

Founded October 8 2010

It’s still live over at
KeriBlogYES.wordpress.com

First post.

There’s about 5 posts, including:

– playing pool, with a jumpshot video

– that I changed my Twitter name (I’m formerly KeriCDN, eh)

– and an awkward video of me babbling to the camera, about how “Canadian Explorer’ was over, welcome to the all-new KeriBlog lalala

Me on founding day.

Remember in summer 2011, when I amalgamated all my URLs under one umbrella: KeriBLOB.com ahah, that still has legs.

Woah I was on a Blackberry! Remember that browser gah. When did I switch to iPhone wait, probably blogged it brb…

… ya I did – First Post from my iPhone

That’s a video in the middle, re-embedding now.

Bit of a cheap editing trick a bit, but still kinda neat, the page looked just like it. All the sticky-notes were image-mapped wait again, that still may be my ‘About’ page here… brb… … ya it is. Kay that’s bad.

I came across this old blog, while working on the new one.

I have 8 ‘About’ pages to polish now, then sidebar images to amalgamate and create.  Expect a post with a sidebar collage.  It’s all about the sidebar.

The Skip is Back in the Step

3 weeks on the road is too much.

Mega-decompression weekend; jogging pants only, with plenty of quietness, little talking, ahhh. Feeling back to normal, puffier, not haggard and melted.

#SundayCleaning, did some sewing, main-lined episodes of Community, and kicked off my blog re-build.

For the past couple months, the new frame has been being built, and now it’s at that juncture where only I can move the project forward. The list is daunting.  Every bullet you point you see above is 2 hours, anyway.  Sidebars are a time suck. Yesterday I wrote 8 ‘About’ pages omg.

Part of this re-build, is to clean up my social media accounts; so bad I’m wearing a winter jacket in my Twitter, and my LinkedIn is the world’s worst, doesn’t say auto journalist, or even KeriBlog.com I think.

Filming a car meetup this week; my Mustang review ran last week (I’ll blog it); and because I flew home Wednesday, it’s just my Jetta, back to schedule asap. This week’s column is about buying cars in bulk.

Coming up – several car reviews / the last 5 KoD columns / NFC / BlackHat / hacking cars / Vegas / security at the Honda Indy / Lincoln MKZ / 2 Land Rovers / the Raptor / and 9 videos are ready to go.

Here’s to a strong start to your week xo

This is going to be a great fall outfit.

A few recent additions to my lanyard collection.

Shhh.

Night.

My Mind is Mega-Melted

Look how haggard.

Taken as I got caught just standing there, squeezing that stuffed animal starting deeply into the dollar bins, unable to make a decision. You should see how clumsy I am.

My mind is mush, my sentences aren’t elegant, my math skills are gone.

I wandered  out of an airport store like that, down the hall, oh wait, returned, “hi I accidentally stole this magazine”.

Still haven’t recovered from Vegas, then a couple surprise days on the road, and juggling 2 jobs and may have added a third one last week.  I haven’t stopped in forever, think it all finally caught up to me.  I just need two good nights sleeps to reset.

Here’s my Autonet.ca news articles, if you ever.

Least my hair is looking great. Here’s Niki and I at work on “Illusion Head”, which is almost ready for video debut.

Thanks, Brennen.

This Thursday is a big day, then wait till you see the adventure were off on for a third of September; that’s now at 99.5% confirmed.

There was a meteor shower this weekend guys, the Perseids Meteor Shower – pieces of the comet Swift-Tuttle fall off; happens every year at this time; named for Greek mythical hero Perseus, who slayed Medusa.

Here’s the Wiki.

And did you hear about the bright green fireball that passed over Toronto last week? Nice.

(if we’re just meeting; for all my love of logic, I track the planets closer than most. Here’s the blog category)

Escaped the city for a few days.

Did you know Toronto passed Chicago in size a few months back? It’s now the 4th largest city in North America.

Wrote all day for the paper today, that’s good till Wednesday, so gotta try to get some time in on this project.

Didnt mention anything yet, but that’s been being built over the last couple months. Launch is scheduled for the fall.

Now to eat this feast.

Kay quiet time, just for a sec. TTY Thursday

I’ll close this post with a less-melted photo of me, which I’m starting to resemeble again; I’m puffing back out slowly here. I am SO excited about everything, it’s all coming together guys. Thanks for always checking in xo

Home, then I Wasn't, Now I Am For Real

11 days in Vegas is a long time woah.

Returned to Toronto Sunday night to a good friend in the emergency room, so Monday morning I drove to them.  Which landed me here.

Ahhh.  That accidentally worked out well.  And my pal pulled through xo

I’ll do a dedicated Vegas post, which will probably be the most un-Vegas post ever ugh; I do not like that place.

The conferences were fantastic though. I learned a lot, and have some great stuff to share.  Tons of videos, too.

I wasn’t able to get online though, it was the most hostile network in the world.  I’ll do a post why.

mmm what else… been polishing my Ford Mustang review, it prints next week; today’s column was clinical and so-so; my news on Monday was one of my better headlines in a while, “Drive the Porsche the Internet Built” ha.  Remember that job offer I had to decide on?  Said no.  Oh, and the auto-body franchise CARSTAR kicked off a national campaign today, and I was hired to do the internet part; video and blog post coming tomorrow.

I’m driving my Jetta this week, and have a hankering to test the new Kia Optima; maybe a mini-van; and a Jaguar.

Been a big week already, and it’s only Wednesday.  Couple big projects look like they’re going to happen; last Thursday I got an 99%-confirmation email; and this afternoon there was a handshake at the end of a meeting.  I’ll tell you soon as I can.  Not trying to be mysterious, it’s that I’ve learned the hard way around here:

Never breathe a word, until you can link to it.

Doing laundry for the first time in 2 weeks, have two more paper deadlines due, and then I’ll update massively here.  I should go eat today, eh.  McDonalds, yes, nodding at screen, off I go TTYS

PS – new moon tonight.

Guys Hi Sorry, Hi from Vegas

Woke up here on Saturday, here all week.  Interent is sub-par, especially because I’m attending a security conference where like, my phone stays in Airplane mode.

Will catch you up here soon, I had news to write today, and a video that’s priority to be edited, look for it online early August.

It’s gonna be a really fun week, so far it is. There’s even, at each conference, talks on auto security; attacking a car’s computer network.

kk back to Final Cut.

TTYS

The Galaxy 3 takes better video than the iPhone 5.

I’m cutting in old ‘Canadian Explorer’ footage; things were so grainy 5 years ago, eh.

But I don’t have the hard-drive with me, so I had to download them from YouTube.

If you’re on a Mac, best way I found was use MacX YouTube Downloader.

1 – enter the URL, then download an .MP4 (don’t bother with .FLV)
2 – use the full YouTube URL, not the one beneath the video
3 – download Streamclip to convert the files into whatever (love this program)
