Nothing That Exciting Happened to Me Today

Happens about 4 days a year, and today was one of them.

Built a drawer unit tonight. I’d forgotten how long it takes to put together Ikea furniture.

About being very organized: at the end of my life, I compare how much time I wasted looking for things versus a messy person, I bet I’d come out DAYS ahead.

Had my first patio beer today.

The unattended cel phone to the right of the bucket.

Lined up some excellent events over the next few weeks, including a Pepsi event at Pinewood Movie Studios YES I’ve wanted to go there forever, and another day a professional driver from Honda and I are going to teach you to drive standard.

And that was my Tuesday.

Homeless to a Complete Home in 2 Weeks

Probably more excited for the reliable internet than the bed.  For every blog post from the States I expended the energy of 3 posts.

For the home part, it wasn’t the disruption about not having one (I’m not fussed about having familiar furniture and things around), it’s the TIME you have to invest to keep it going that kills you… where’s my next bed, half the day gets eaten up transitioning, it’s too much.

The first week I didn’t have a car, thankfully this past week I did: check THIS out, picked it up Monday.

Can you tell how pumped I am.

Been collecting footage for a video, wait till you see me dis-board the thing, it’s ridiculous: I’m so little, and it’s so opposite.

Gratuitous Navigator shot.

Actually, I went from zero cars to two early Monday afternoon.

It’s was a week of unpacking and installing myself into my new home.

I found the place Thursday, signed the lease Friday,

and moved in Monday.

Been finding all kinds of fun little things.  That box “E Memories” is a video unto itself.

1Remember that song I was excited to find recently?  That’s the original.

2 – Once those magnets are displayed somewhere, I’m home. A 20 year tradition.

3 – Backing soda always gets placed everywhere.

4 – the full Nancy Drew collection. I have in mind to make an art installation with them, lmk if you have a caring home for such a thing.

Took a party break.

Congratulations on your new company, Shawn, and here’s to it being a success!  Toronto: if you are looking to plan an event, you want to use My Event Suite.

Sugar rush then back to work.

Turned my trunk into my ottoman.

I could make a whole moving category on my blog, actually I think I will, hang on… there, done.

It’s not everyday you get a new bed, I figured maybe twice, three times in your life?

Now I’m going to crawl into it.

Squishing this much into such a short time really takes it out of you.  I’m not sure how efficient this is in the long run.

Thanks for the understanding on the pause here on my blog xo.

TTYT, have a great Sunday.

Saturday Nights are for Blogging

And doing your nails.

Love doing my nails.

That tool is key, learned that from @It’sBrownBarbie. My nails are even on Casie’s blog right now. Are you following Casie’s blog? You should be.

I’ve been trying stickering my nails, I get it.  Don’t bother buying cheap ones though, they don’t fit (see above), a total waste.  I’d like to try having a professional put them on.

Back to blogging.

You can tell it’s Saturday night when you see the bubbly water by my monitor. No joke, check my Twitpics.

Thursday nights though, I say it every week…

Tonight I finally got to some back-end-blog maintenance, caught up on having reliable internet again.

Made Sidebar Art.

Which is so beautiful it’s in it’s own post here.

I was going to talk on the phone while I did that, but never picked it up. Enjoyed the silence.

I’m a fan of silence. How you can fully concentrate with music on, I don’t know.

Have a great long weekend!!

Enjoy family and friends, enjoy IRL, put your phone down.

My Last 24 Hours

Guys woah, until it’s ALL GONE, all of it, you don’t realize how reliant you are on electronic communication until you literally have none.

I went to 2 McDonald’s and a Starbucks, I tried my guts out to get this online… coming soon PROPER TOOLS: an iPhone I can tether to an Air, a laptop that’s just my size.

Regarding my new site well, I’ve been building it in my imagination for 2 years, and it’s as good.  The unveiling is later this week, and, maybe my favourite news, The Canadian Explorer is finally getting the home it deserves.

Here’s my home for the next two months.

My trunk in the GLI.

I have a lot of purging to do, still. You have to be ruthless I’ve learned.

And the video ‘I Own Only One Trunk’ well, is still unedited, there’s been no time… it’s a rhythm I still haven’t found yet, but I’m getting closer.

I’m excited to edit that one, I had a lot of fun with The Emporium, the whole experience, and I have more to say about the experience, which was kinda weird.

I’ve Been a Geek a Long Time

Specifically since 1985 when I got my first Mac – the Apple Macintosh.

It had 128k of RAM, the computer you’re reading this on probably has 2-4GBs of RAM.  People built drafting programs, flight simulators, graphic programs with such little memory, think about that.

My favourite Mac of all time was the LC 575, that’s my only photo of it, yes those are lipstick kisses, and that’s its system software install disc.

A close second would be my Powerbook 170.

My worst computer by far was my Umax.  Remember that brief time when Apple allowed other companies to make the hardware and clones for their OS?  I despised mine, spent more time fixing it than I did using it.

Then when the iMac came out, and Apple gave out watches to test one at at their store. I wore that watch out.

SCSI!

Remember when crazy computer language started infiltrating our everyday conversations… BubbleJet, DotMatrix, Midi, WYSIWYG….

I kept that connector, might turn it into a piece of jewellery.

Dark Castle, 1986.

The world’s biggest floppy.

I originally had four, which I framed and displayed like art, then over the years I gave away three.

I have no idea what’s on the discs, they’re from a military base in the 90s. I should just say it holds a copy of the world’s first computer virus haha.
