To Nashville with Nissan

Nashville, Tennessee – where the all-new 2014 Nissan Rogue is built; that’s why there.

I’ve always liked this city, here’s the blog tag.

Jeremy Sinek and I were drive partners again, I’ve introduced you before. We are hilarious.

We found this odd, movie-set-town inside the city; fake-land.

Not being a fan of music, the best of this city is lost on me.

Still fun night out with the auto journalist gang.

Some of us became obsessed with this street magician; he was so good, I’ll put him in his own post later this week. He put a cigarette out into my shirt.

Brand-new hotel, the Omni, it’s 2 weeks old new.

Which is how this came to be…

What’s wrong with this photo?

I’m laying on a hotel bed spread.

Cesspool!  Usually soon as I enter the room, that thing gets ripped off and kicked in a corner.

Remembering Remembrance Day

You don’t have to support why our troops are wherever,

but you do have to support that they are.

We live in the the world’s most peaceful country, that doesn’t just happen.

Thank you to those who made & make it so.

It’s a Silent Saturday

Same as last night.  I’ll start talking again tomorrow. Need alone, imagination time. There’s a good chance I’m more accustomed to spending time alone than you.

Decompressing from an action-filled week, especially Thursday. I killed it harder than I have in a long time on Thursday. Made for a great setup for the best night of the week.

A huge highlight was being invited to Google.

Whole post coming soon, learned a lot about how people shop for a car.

It was a great day at work, and later my Viddy video account crested 400 followers, not bad given my following number ha.

There’s probably some videos you’ve not seen, because I’ve not yet blogged them here.

Still evolving my look.

Mostly I just bought dress pants.

My desk at the end of the week AKA what it took to accomplish everything (pretty minimal eh)

Picked up this week’s flowers.

If ever you need to calm me down, give me flowers to arrange, or a collage to make; so soothing.

My back is still out, but improving. My mind has returned to 85% normal functioning.  Usually I’d say 100%, but really trying to stay committed to testing out this new, slower way.

So today looks mostly like this.  Jogging pants, couch and Workaholics.

Holy crap that show makes me burst out laughing. Click the above link to watch all episodes.

About to make my big day outing to the dollar store, then going back to blog polishing and quiet. TTY, have a good Saturday night.

All Over and Also Not

I’m all over town this week, plus have a ton of auto articles due so it’s also opposite, heads down pounding my keyboard (this week’s column – bragging about Canada/ians in the auto industry).

Still overwhelmed.  To produce this life, then find the time to document it, ideally in video, oh guys it’s 10:45 and I just sat down for the first time today.

Where is my assistant omg… hey why not, let’s see what happens, I’ll write a wanted ad…

Seeking an Assistant: You can video edit, blog, and you “get” the internet. You can speak on the phone, and present well both online and IRL. This is not your first job. I am a benevolent dictator, and the job will be fun, rewarding + travel. Pay to start sucks, gobs of money to follow. Please apply within.

Below are some recent things, many coming soon in full posts, and I’ve got to get to bed, it’s another 16 hour day out tomorrow and OH am I ever excited about my morning meeting. Waiting to say where until I have an acconomyonpying photo, for maximum impact obviously.

Night

Nice to be getting back online.

My all-new Nissan Rogue review prints next week (liked it).

Went to Canadian Tire’s annual Winter Driving event today. Remember last year, when I drove on a hockey rink?

This year was about the science. You change your tires at 7ºC – it’s about temperature, not snow.

Ran into these hooligans.

L – R:  Mike Schlee of AutoGuide; David Miller of The Driver; Mark Stevenson of Autos.ca

Stopped by eBay tonight, where Project Runway’s season 2 winner Sunny Wong was debuting his holiday collection.

That dress is being auctioned off for Kids Help Phone, bidding starts at $0.99, check #VAWK4eBay for details.

Classy, elegant and well made; making that sharp V with sheer panels is impossible.

Went to Canada’s oldest & largest Classic Car auction.

Those photos will make a blog beautfiul.

Hi hi 7 Jeans party.

About 70% of all the stuff I’ve posted since 2007, has been in 7s, love ’em. Okay, it’s all the same pair. I had to relegate them to only fancy events, it’s become a bit like wearing tissue paper.

And this string of bad luck is trying so hard to hang ON omfg, look where I am.

Threw my back out, and was at an emergency physio appointment this morning.  You know it’s bad if I went to a doctor. Getting old is garbage.

So ya, I’ve fallen into old habits.

kk night for real.

Twitter, Facebook, Instagram & Viddy still on skeleton staff  TTYS

I’m Coming Back to Life

I am. Finally.

I can feel it, my atrocious string of bad luck is OVER.

I was so down holy crap. I stopped talking for a bit. I went to a meeting in jogging pants. That was the hardest time I’ve had way over a decade. And it ended, as big things do, with a giant metaphorical kick to the teeth, about a week ago.

In the aftermath, ready… I cried. Wait, in public. On 3 relative strangers.  And it wasn’t a single, beautifully dramatic tear falling, I cried a contact out.

It was a good kick. But just because they do, doesn’t mean I do, that I’d behave as classlessly and publicly, add some text and blog the photo of us hugging like, really?

Things settled, and a few days ago my fever broke, I started to feel better and lighter. Feels dumb to say, but I could tell the bad-luck-string has been severed.

I’m starting to feel like my old self. But I’m going to try something new, and not rush or push, I’m going to … take my time. Physically cringed typing that.  But if the base isn’t strong, can’t build on top.

I have a big week this week… 4 events (wait till you see where we’re going Thursday); the usual meetings; this week’s column is about donating your organs; my Rogue review runs this week; and the last stage of blog renovations happens Friday, and I’m not prepared.

As I come back I have so much to tell you– Nashville TN last week with Nissan, and their all-new Rogue (like it), and … new shoes / I broke the internet again YES / working with MotoringTV / VIN numbers and some more columns / security stuff / street magic and driving videos / way more I forget but wrote down / more on how I’ve been evolving my look :|

Thanks for your patience.

xo

PS – still absorbing this revelation:

I think I also have to accept, that there is an actual human on the other end of this… (like, these posts just don’t go into the ether, then cars appear). Therefore, this is a relationship, and it needs better time management and attention.
