Do I Ever Love Video Editing

I’ve gotten away with using an ’07 copy of Final Cut Express, until now. Until my new laptop.  I miss it a bit, I was super lightening fast.

I used some of the failed footage from Thursday to figure it out the new software.

Remember when I was pumped about that codec a few weeks back? That was part of this process, which is now done *wipes forehead*.

Here’s a one-minute video I made: What Video Editing Looks Like

How to explain why I love it.… it’s the getting lost in the story, throwing the footage around the timeline, trimming and transitions, now add in some music oh YA now we’re talking!  fist pump your screen!… now you’re conducting with your left hand while your right clicks the crap out of your mouse, 4 hours have passed and you have no cue,  you’re too lost in creating and LOVE IT.

I’m not a fan of the new way of transitions… they’re all too fancy, and it tries to force me to put them on both ends of the clip, dumb.

You can export the video straight to YouTube, slick.  And the new method of importing clips, really slick.

Have a great Monday!  I’ve got a presentation to finish here, more on that soon, and start saving your pennies… Canada is deleting them as you know, and I’ve got a great thing for you to do with them for charity.

Here’s to a good start to your week today, TTY on Twitter,

Found My Old Blackberry Voice Notes

I had a Blackberry for years. I used to record voice notes, then email them to everyone. These are some of those voice notes.

(Note: NSFW – there’s a couple swear words in two of them)

I went around saying this for months. It still makes no sense, and still makes me laugh.

En route to a meeting here. The dolphin got me a job.

There you go, a little peak inside my cel phone. Now that I have an iPhone I stopped doing this. I should start again.

Swooning Over a Codec, I Can Edit Again

I AM ELATED.

My camera wouldn’t talk to my computer. How can I edit?

1 – the problem
2 – my computer couldn’t read the files on my video camera, they were trapped inside the camera
3 – the solution

** When buying a Sony video camera: Sony is proprietary. They try to make you use their software to get pics/videos off the camera.  Be prepared to use a work-around.

Do you even know HOW hard it is to find a video camera with a wireless lavalier microphone?

Nay impossible.

That’s why mine is so special.

Holy crap I love video editing.

I celebrated with ice cream.

I'm Flush with Internet Again

Home again home again, jiggety jig.

I love airports, a lot.

Have a post drafted here titled, “I Love Aiports”. I even have a whole category here dedicated to them.

I do the exact same thing upon arriving at my new location: unpack and install myself into my new home.

  1. I only own socks that look like that
  2. I collect hotel room keys for a Smarten Up, Internet video; you’re going to be surprised at the information on them
  3. Been expanding my cutlery collection
  4. Those 12 year old bags have travelled around the globe a few times. I love Tumi.

A travel-tips-video-mini-series has been playing in my head, maybe I’ll make it. Because I need _more_ to edit :|

Travel tip: leave your place clean so when you return it’s a smooth installation.

Hi from West Virginia, I’m here for a bit.

(note: the fastest way to ever find me is on Twitter: @KeriBlog)

I have 80% reliable internet connection for the foreseeable future, which I consider amazing. 100% connectivity on the road is tough.

It’s never that lucky though, it’s me.

My iPhone lost it’s mind yesterday, look at my lock screens yesterday.

I couldn’t even answer the phone. I’m hoping I can wipe a bunch of information to give it more room to think, but think I may have to wipe and rebuild the whole thing. So again, instead of editing I’m debugging.

I’ll be back-blogging the last 4 days so get ready to scroll.
