Home from Los Angeles with Ford

Left Tuesday, I was at the auto show with Ford again (two years ago they’d invited my blog [video], this year was with the newspaper)

We stayed in Santa Monica.

The * was me.

The famous Santa Monica pier was about 300 metres away.

I never made it though; I took these photos from Dan.

It was a fast trip – travel Tuesday, spend Wednesday inside here…

… then dinner and fly out the next morning.

Watched “Now you See Me” on the plane (so good), then wrote my column (talking to X-Copper about speeding tickets, to balance out this week’s talking with the toughest enforcer on the force).

Landed around 8; dinner catch up and laughs; then home, unpack, and power my apartment back up; jacknife on the phone with a BFF while she regaled me with her adventures; and now this is me.

Thursday night, best night of the week.

I’ll cheers you after I hit publish, then upload my column, then tomorrow I’ll blog the auto show.

All of a Sudden it’s Sunday Again

Sunday Sunday Race-day.  Went to the Indy this afternoon, and a behind-the-scenes tour on Thursday, both of which I’ll blog soon.

Productive week, fast week.  Killed it at work Wednesday, and will blog my Audi A3 review this week, which might be my best review yet. Although, my notes here for my Mustang review are coming together all right.

Friday night in Unionville. I was test driving the city, to see what it’d be like if I lived there.

Like it to visit, but no to living there.

I’m feeling over living downtown.

I can’t just go for a quick drive, something I’ve done my whole life. It’s 30 minutes just to get outside the city to any mildly interesting road.

Then, I got stuck in traffic this week, and it was this moment that tipped it all over.

70 minutes to go 2 km while trapped, no other routes to take and escape. This is no way to live.

Me photographing the Mustang on the weekend.

Black cars are tough to photograph.

And I timed it too, so I took the photos during “magic hour”, but mmm… looks kinda blob-y still, eh.

Night drive.

OMFG I’m behind here, I’m sorry. You can tell; it’s halfway through July and I should be at around 75 photos uploaded for the month, I’m at 50. Not doing this to bug you, I just have so much going on, and newspaper deadlines always will win over blog ones.

I’m around and not boarding any planes this week. I have to return the Mustang tomorrow, and pick up my Jetta that’s been sitting there for 3 weeks. Think it’ll start? I’m 80/20 that it will.

Found a secret waterfall during a walk.

I often walk out the door with only my phone, plus this:

My thinking is: 99% of the time I should be able to get myself out of a situation with $20.

Always a good week when you receive an envelope that comes from here. Saved it.

Proof I take the TTC.

That was en route to the “Canadian Tire Christmas House” this week, which was a neat first, and will blog about it later this week.

Thursday night, best night of the week.

What you can’t see is that except for me, the place was empty. It was great, I didn’t have to overhear / tune-out dumbness. My tolerance for whininess is decreasing quickly.

While I was eating the dinner Tuesday, the girl at the next table complained and whined the entire time; kinda made me lose my appetitte. Going on about something that happened when you were 8, like really.

kk I’ve got a couple big meetings this week, please keep your fingers crossed. This week’s column is about how the hippies and car racing community have more in common than they realize. And I’m still about 6 behind on video editing, coming soon, swear.

It Should Not be Thursday Already

It’s alarming me how fast weeks are passing. 2013 is 1/3 done. Oh time.

There was a lunar eclipse this afternoon, a full moon tonight, plus it’s Thursday night, best night of the week.  Things are gearing up for a big planetary alignment on June 5th, plan accordingly.

In less etheral news, I’ve booked a lot of travel for May = Mexico, Alberta & Oregon. Alberta to test the fully-refreshed Ford F150 Pickup truck wait, gets better, in Dinosaur Park. And it’s off with Acura to the winding roads of Oregon, for their MDX, a 7-seater SUV.

I’m behind on posting my columns, I will this weekend, because I really want you to read the pedestiran one. And the security one, obs.

At the risk of jinxing myself, starting Saturday my possible-new-assistant and I are sitting down to plan a week-long test of working together. I’m very excited. Tonight I made us a calender, and started a spreadsheet entitled; ‘Blog Post DRAFTS”, it’s 50 deep.

Below I am making said shared calendar. Sharing. Lessening control. Oh boy, guys.

Hope you too had a good Thursday night.  I finished all my jobs by 9, then jogging pants on and a quiet creative stuff only night, no work.

One thing I did was modify a Yada baby monitor Canadian Tire kindly sent me, and made it a new, more solid tripod system.

I’m going to stick it in my car then tada, my ’99 Jetta now has a backup camera / spy cam.

And I daydreamed and made notes & lists. And now there’s sticky notes everywhere, and I feel better. I have to have daydream & alone time, or I start to lose it.

What daydream & alone-time looks like.

Hand over mouth, always.

The turning point for this KeriBlog nonsense has never been closer guys.  I have a lot of irons here, there and around, and some seem like they’re about to kick off… if I can just get it just right… I think so.

Thanks for always checking in,

Love,
Keri

Look how hard I’m trying to eat better.

See that there? A bottle of spice.

I love ports.

I am wiped.

Night.

I Made It Into Urban Dictionary – To Jacknife

To Jacknife: When you burst out laughing, so hard and so suddenly,
you involuntarily fold in half at the waist.
Usually accompanied by a large exhale of breath.

Here’s the official entry on UrbanDictionary.com

To Jacknife – pass it on!

PS – I got the good news email on a #ThursdayNight.  Further proof it really is the best night of the week.
