I’m Mobile Again

Thanks for the wheels, Chevrolet!

It’s their just-released Sonic – their hyrid car. Which has much more pep and pickup than you’d expect.

And Chevy knows me well, they gave me a manual car YA buddy, it’s great to be shifting again and making the engine rawwwwar out of the corners.

Here’s the interior.

Nice and simple, not too many bells and whistles, which I don’t like and think are superfluous.

If I were to buy a new car I’ll be saying no thanks to things like backing-up cameras and GPS. I can back up just fine with my eyes, and I don’t wish to be tracked.

I was at Chevrolet’s event in Dundas Square last week, they launched three new cars day… the Sonic, Orlando and their electric car, the Volt.

It was also a big day in internet history too, they streamed live all day to the homepage of YouTube, and for a minute I was on it, neat eh! Casie and I were interviewed about driving the the Volt. Unfortunately neither of us have footage of it, lesigh.

I Broke my Back Blogging

Go ahead and laugh, I would.

Here’s the posture post I’m talking about, and here’s my favourite way to sit and concentrate, hand-over-mouth.

Casie helped re-create the scene of the incident:

Last time this happened, last summer, my back fixed itself… I was over at Casie’s, being lippy with a lot of gestures and over-dramatics, and it popped itself back into place. I’m hoping that’s what happens again.

I’d pledge here some giant exercise plan but meh, let’s be realistic. I did go to the physio this morning though, I’m on it.

I meant what I said above, about being slowed down being good for me… I tweeted that yesterday, actually I crushed yesterday YA buddy.

Also I did my best self-manicure ever… because I couldn’t move around and ruin them.

Let’s look back to happier, bouncier times, please think of me like this internet, send healing thoughts hahasigh.

Quick Update

I’m all settled into my new home, look: all white and minimal, just the way I love it.

First thing I did upon arrival was remove the stuff on the walls and slide it under the bed.

I’m at that in-between computer switchover phase, you know the one, stuff on both. Ahhhh the Air, it feels almost like, too nice for me. I probably love the Air more than you do.

In my new neighbourhood there’s old architecture like this, and trees.  Where I came from there was neither, and it’s nice.

Here’s Casie, Breanna and I this week doing Dance Heads to that big butts song, click here to watch the video.   I couldn’t figure out how to embed here from Facebook sorry.  Thanks for a fun night, High Road!

Recent outfits.

The biggest Happy Birthday to my little brother!!

I adore you and am so proud of you! XO

He’s the one making me laugh so hard in this video.

Found this while packing.

I’m off to a party, TTYT!

Here’s to a great Sunday long weekend night, and an early Happy Thankstaking to you!

The Strombo Party was a Great Party

Casie, Lauren and I attended George Stroumboulopoulos’s party, which was _the_ TIFF party that night.

It was held at ONE bar inside Hazelton Hotel in Yorkville, you can stay there tonight for $1000.

Here’s the red carpet.

We were photographed and interviewed here, while those people looked on.

Fortunately the girls got better photos than me, so I went and grabbed them.

Casie and our host, George.

Toronto’s four favourite blonde bloggers.

Behind me is Amber Mac, finally we met.  She does a great job, has a million internet shows, a book; she’s been killing it online for forever.

And that’s Sarah, who introduced herself as, “hey I’m the one that stalked you on Twitter that rainy night”, ha!  Because she did.

I was tucked into a dark doorway on Queen Street in a hat a rainy night weeks ago, and she tweeted she’d spotted me driving past.  Good spy skills, lady.  (here’s her blog post about tonight).

This photo was on CBC Live.

Did you know I was CBC’s ‘inaugural made-for-web show”?  Yup.

Bono showed up, Clive Owen, John Hamm. I didn’t see any of them. I heard a rumour Bono deploys “fake Bonos” around town as decoys, funny eh.

Click here to see photos of all the famous folk who showed.

A happy me skipping home.

Swarovski Makes a Blog Beautiful

Did you know Swarovski family-owned-and-operated since 1895?  No wonder I’ve always liked them, I’m a big fan of the generations-of-success thing.

They were in a room at the Four Seasons, and you know how I feel about jewellery.

They were showcasing their Wings of Fantasy fall/winter line, as well as their couture collection, as in: all one of a kind, you can’t buy them, it’s their only stop in Canada, these were my favourite pieces:

I dedicate this animated gif to Allison.
