Rest Time and About Time

I’m pleased to report I killed it this week. I can’t believe I fit so much in since I flew home Sunday night.  I’ve lived on the road 21/32 weeks or 65% of the year-to-date.  Think it finally caught up to me.

I’m spent.

I just laid like this all still for 20 minutes, can’t remember the last time I did that.  You can get a lot done in 20 minutes.

I’m moving like an old person, and had use a pen & paper to do some basic math.

After I hit publish, I’m done my jobs and am going to be quiet for the rest of the day, finish #SundayCleaning, start a book, do a face mask, blog and rest.  If I’m feeling adventurous, I’ll walk to get my mail.

Upcoming Posts:

– About my New Job at the Newspaper

– Taking the New Ford Escape on a Track (have a great video edited for that)

– How to Change Your Router Password and Why You Should

I can’t seem get away with what I used to: living on one meal a day eaten at 7pm, never stopping, endless energy always, I think it’s because I’m … aging.  Well not think, I know.  So are you. Oh time.

My obsession with time may seem odd, but guys: there isn’t any.

Time is your only non-renewable resource.

We’re 3/4 the way through 2012, how’d that happen. I’ll be blogging about Christmas parties before I know it.

Hang on, it’s been a while since I did this; I’m going to re-embed my time video, About Time:

Fall is coming, it’s go time, you ready?  I am. Actually, this is my best year yet for lining stuff up, and working with the rhythm that life happens at.

I also have a video about that, filmed last year exactly around this time.

The Rhythm of a Year

I hadn’t watched it since I posted it, look at that beautiful bright blonde hair ohhh I miss it. Not my Blackberry though, never once have I missed that thing.

Kay enough, let the resting commence. Go offline and outside, this is one of our last summer weekends!

TTYL and if not before, have a great Saturday night!

The Los Angeles Auto Show 2011

I had a great time at the LA Auto Show last November! Ford brought me along with them, was a gracious host and I had an amazing time, thanks again guys!

Ford.ca

A 6.7L engine woah, that pickup dream of mine is old, it’s too bad tinting that dark is illegal, those Mitsubishi concept cars are cute, I stand by my cycling team comment :|, and cool about the Mustang Pantone yellow like a school bus, eh.

Click here for a full list of debuts at the show. Also, the show does something nice each Thursday night before it opens, they throw a charity event benefitting a program to give healthcare to the homeless in LA.

But wait, November was so long ago, why is this video posted now? I’d moved the week before, moved to a new laptop, switched to the new Final Cut X, then left the country for 4 months weeks after getting home. Still good footage, still sorry about the delay Ford :)

What Am I Going To Do With This Hair

Worst hair in 5+ years.

It’s needs a style.  And it’s not your screen, it’s urine colour in real life, too. It’s pretty damaged to be honest.  Should I dye it dark brown?  Or take the risk and blonde it up?  Which I miss very much.

I think something’s wrong with my phone camera.

Or the lighting in here is weird, my photos aren’t sharp lately.

It could be my home though, it is quite white.

I accidentally poisoned this week’s flowers, too much of that food they give you at the store.

Kay back to video editing. I’ve made peace with the new Final Cut X, finally.  For the record I’m still meh about it.  Kay that’s the last you’ll hear of it.

Yonge Street is Closed for a Month Starting August 17

Arriving home Sunday night, I went for a walk and found this confusion…  people walking down the centre of Yonge Street?

A little Google work and tada: introducing Celebrate Yonge.

  • 1 – the new pedestrian lane
  • 2 – the new car lane
  • 3 – the guys who painted the lanes

From August 17 to September 16 there will be planters to create a barrier between cars and pedestrians, restaurants will add patios on the sidewalk, there will be street vendors, I really like this idea.  Plus with 200 people for every 1 car, this makes sense.

BlogTO has a good map of how it will be set up.

This is the first time since the ’70s this has happened!  Click here to see photos from then.

I really like Yonge Street, I walk it a lot; the people watching is amazing.  I went through a phase in 2008 where I’d often eat at the McDonald’s on Yonge at Wellesley, click here for a really old blog post about that.

Non-Canadians: Yonge street is one of Canada’s busiest streets, and is the longest street in the world.
