He Bent a Fork With His MIND

I’m on a boat with BFF Casie, and Mysterion approaches, could he try to amaze us, by reading our minds?

Oh definitely. I’ve been spewing stuff onto the internet for years about my superior psychic skills, I love this stuff.

Watch this video – he turns a fork 360 degrees around in MY hand.

I promise I’m not in on this.

I kept the fork.

And that’s my drawing on the left, that he replicated  on the right, by reading my mind (it’s a server).

Crazy, eh?!

I wonder how he did it…… or do I…… maybe I wonder if it’s best to keep your powers hidden…… or I’m wondering what are the odds to run into another one on a boat…. or maybe I wonder if it’ll ever stop being fun, to be so overdramatic……

Sometimes I break the camera.

I wonder.

Hello, An Update

Been a busy May, eh.  Can you believe it’s mid-May ugh.

Let’s see…

Went to a Toronto FC game recently, always a great time beacuse it’s a loud and rowdy crowd.

Learned that soccer is called, “the beautiful game”, because once the clock starts it doesn’t stop, so therefore the game is always contained to two hours. Unlike football, which has so many stops and starts I practically died of boredom last year and left early.

Box view:

Got a haircut, this time Matthew from Brennen Demelo Studio. He just returned from Berlin Germany, where he was furthering his education,.

That’s one of the best parts about this place… you can go to any stylist there if your regular isn’t available, and everything will still come out amazing.

What else…

Oh, I got this idea in my head a few weeks back…. I’d like to be a Toronto tour guide atop a double decker bus, spouting off into the microphone facts about the city and Canada. You do not even realize how much Canadian facts I have here in my head.

I’d film the entire experience of course, and then ideally I sell the video to some tourism outfit which promotes Toronto, and this is just one of a million ideas I have everyday and WHERE IS MY ARMY TO HELP ME EXECUTE IT ALL???

Now please give a warm welcome my new music sponsor, Capo Productions!

Royalty-free music is pricey and important. Did you know  YouTube uses a robot to scan the audio on your video as it uploads, determines if you are  using a song you don’t own and flags your video for further analysis?

Thank you Fred, I’m pumped about this!

Here’s some noteworthy technical things:

From top left to right:

– I’m quite proud of that pie chart, specifically the yellow chunk… this is the average time spent on my blog.  35% of visitors spend over an hour here. So thank you for pushing play!

– I think the private cloud market will explode soon, and have been thinking to invest in it

– there’s something you don’t see everyday, a red light on the side of a Macbook, my Macbook.

– that’s my Klout score, holding at a solid 50, not bad not bad. See how it says I’m an “activist”? I like that.  It got many of my “influential about” topics correct (McDonalds, ha), except for ‘Keri Hilson’, I’ve never typed her name ever?

Kay that’s a long blog post, TTYS.

Hosting Canada’s Largest Undergrad Tech Conference

This weekend was the 12th Annual CUTC.ca, and Casie and I hosted the event at University of Toronto.

These kids were great; all on their own volition they organized, travelled and paid their way. Pretty sure this group is indeed our future.

Introducing your hosts!

And THAT is my very own personal QR Code boom boom.

They made it for me and put it on the back of my badge, I always wanted one.  I’ve been preoccupied with QR codes since ’08, because I blogged about them over at Canadian Explorer then, ahhh the benefit of having a blog.

If you scan it it’ll kick your phone right over to here, my blog.

Non-nerds: QR Codes (quick response) are elaborate bar codes that hold a ridiculous amount of information, like a small book. They’ve been in wide use in Europe and especially Japan, and are finally making their way here. Here’s the Wiki page.

During lunch we found a video game area and settled into play our respecitve favourite games: Casie dancing, me Call of Duty.

I should really get and start using a proper camera huh.

Like Casie’s Olympus, which captured this moment of me finally meeting Adam and  Adil (below) of MyCityLives.com

They’re doing awesome things combining online video and maps,  you gotta check out their site – “you discover and share videos around your location on culture, art and entertainment”.

What’s this park like?  Now I’m watching a video educating me, this is good… like that.

From May 2011

Thanks for having us, CUTC.ca, and congratulations everyone on a successful conference!

Hi CUTC Conference Pals

Nice to meet you!

I’m Keri, the girl standing on stage this weekend in the tuxedo jacket, here: @KeriBlog

I’m excited to be here, and what struck me was that all you guys gave up your weekend and paid your own way to be here, you’re serious, well done!

Readers at home – this is Canada’s largest Undergraduate Technology Conference – CUTC.ca

Owly Images

A bit about me – I’ve been making online videos since 2007, had an internet show called The Canadian Explorer and technically you could sit down and watch me for 7 hours straight.

I”ll embed below a few I think you’ll like best, based on the topics of your conference (thought computing come ON, was pretty obsessed last year), and here’s to a great weekend guys!

TTYS

Such a Nice Saturday! This is My Face!

Hi!

Finally some sun this week eh, least it came on the weekend.  Buds are out on the trees now – proof of spring.

And isn’t this parking spot confusing?

I didn’t get a ticket, , it’s on Bathhurst and Niagara, now you know.

I’m blogging here while this song is jammed in my ears, then going to kick around downtown this afternoon.

Went to a Chilean Wine Tasting at the Spoke Club Tuesday, hosted by Notable TV. They’re soon launching in multiple Canadian cities, and if you live there, go attend their events, they’re great.

There’s footage of me saying something like that, “I like these things because it’s a good crowd, no douche bags”. I probably shouldn’t go on camera after tasting wine on an empty stomach.

It’s Pam, Casie and Karly! Always good seeing you, ladies.  Here’s Casie’s (better) blog post about the event.

Then we snuck out, Irish Goodbye as she calls it.

In other news, next weekend we’re hosting CUTC – the Canadian Undergraduate Technology Conference, pumped.  This crowd will like my Skynet jokes, ha.

And that’s right, thought computing!  It is the future, you heard it here first.

You’ve heard me go on and on about it over the years…. like in My 2012 Prediction and other times when I’ve blogged about Canadian company InteraXon… one of the world’s leading thought-control-computing companies.

They were at the Olympics last year, fast forward to 0:43 below and I’ll explain them a bit.

It’s UFC day!

I’ve had it in my calendar forEVER. Definitely more excited for this than yesterday’s wedding.

The best part won’t be the actual event, it’ll be the aftermath…. everyone hopped up on testosterone and adrenaline, rolling outta there thinking they’re GSP… the city’s gonna be nuts tonight.

Kay getting offline now, TTYL!

Have a great night
