Things I Found while Purging

Come on, I’ll show you some stuff.

Went through a big Ann-Margret phase. I’ve seen her 3 times, the last of which she hugged me.  I can do the song and dance to Appreciation from ‘Viva Las Vegas’.

Look where the bottom ticket is – Minot, North Dakota ahahah omg. Here’s an old blog post about that story.

I write myself letters, to be opened in the future.

Party photo booths.

Remember that time I threw myself a Blog Party? Looking back, kind of a weird thing to do. But it was 2009… different time different internet.  I wanted to bring my blog into the real world, take if offline.  Same for the recent Extravaganza giveaway… how much can my blog actually move?  More than I thought.

Why did I use a period instead of exclamation point after ‘party’?

Statement of fact:  you have been welcomed.

The raffle prizes were items seen in episodes of my show. It was cooler than it sounds.

Hi Suzy!

Graduating university.

Remember that time I was president of a cycling team for 5 years? Ha.

Meet my team – we were scrappy, and won a lot.

From New Years 2010, I went to see the Dead Sea Scrolls.  Am a bit infatuated with them. Look at all the ones & zeros below, ha.

I’d totally forgotten about this, this is neat.

In 2008, I was picked up by CBC and became their “inaugural made-for-web show”. Below is the pitch document, written by my bosses, when they tried to get me a job there permanently.  This is all them, none of this is written by me. This experience was a big lesson about this business.

Because to keep me there, the money  had to come from the ‘entertainment’ budget, so that’s where the storyline of me finding myself came from, to justify it.

I didn’t like that part… there’s no finding, I’m right here.

I wanted to keep it documentary style, about the subject first, me second.  I argued, I lost, and I wouldn’t change one thing about anything, it all worked out correctly, genuinely mean that.

It's Been Bare Bones Internet since Xmas Eve

KeriBlog’s been skeleton staff on everything since the 24th: email, documenting, the news, blog, things, and the newspaper was on a light schedule. It’s been really nice.

The best part is: the whole world is doing the same thing, so you can’t really get anything done right now anyway, which means you can really let your brain relax.

I started to miss typing this afternoon, but that’s it.  I wrote an Autonet article Friday, not again till tomorrow.

Been going on lots of drives, I’ve missed shifting so much, zoning out and enjoying the empty streets.  Doing light manual labour.  My place is spotless, ready for the new year, paperwork is almost under control, and a good purging is underway.

New Years is almost here, hours.  2013.   Wtf eh.

Barefoot Wine – a family-run label since 1986 in California. It’s controversial in the wine community, because they make a bottle that’s that good, for less than $10.

Here’s the latest song I’m OCDing out to – a mashup of this year’s biggest pop tunes.  Anything of mine you’ve read in the past 2 weeks, has been written to this.

Me last night.  Big Saturday night city girl here.

I Bought a Beige Sweater

I’ve been looking 1.5 years for a beige, elaborately-knit sweater. Tada – the Bay. Deep discounts are happening there right now.

Best part about the giant snowfall yesterday… I get to wear these bo0ts for the first time in years.

Last year I was south, and the year before that we barely got snow.

I can link back to these boots in a blog post from  2007.

:0

Mostly I’m doing this post as a face-behind-the-blog thing.

That’s the Business Year of 2012 Complete

Hope you had a good ending, too.

Mine is below, plus I moved a mountain, right down to the wire on Friday. I like to think I finished with a little flourish.

I love how the world collectively shuts down each year like this.

I had a big Friday morning deadline, stood up from my laptop at 2am, then went for a cruise with fellow Autonet-er Russ.

He’d decided in case the world really did end, he wanted to be out driving.

Watch; it’s an automatic, too:

Ha! I’ve been pulling all-nighters for 2 weeks now, and this was a great ending to that.

Photobombing will never get old. Hi Shawna!

5 years I’ve been blogging Brennen,
& this may be his best blonde yet #B

Go too: Brennen Demelo Studio –  416 301 1072 – 316 Adelaide street West

I don’t miss my white blonde hair, but it took many months to be able to say that. Fellow platinums – it’s a bit of a shock, when you transition down in tone.

The Extravaganza is complete!  Both Prize Packs have been delivered to winners: Cara Eng, Toronto, and Glenn Morton, Kingston.  Congratulations!

I didn’t mean for it to get so big, it just kept working – $3,200 in prizes. That’s more than some national franchises, my little blog.

Thanks again PR companies, it was great working together this year.

I was very quiet this weekend, in recovery mode, slept in late today.

My overly-dramatic letter opener.

Did paperwork, Life Admin, light manual labour and no-brainer chores; I can see the floor again.

Of course I shred.

This is my face.

Now back to being quiet, TTYT
