Cars, Security and a Peek into my Life
Ford’s SYNC2 infotainment system was a disaster. So when I went to Detroit and tested the SYNC3 prototype, I figured there was only one way for this thing to go.
Gone is Microsoft, and the operating system is now Blackberry’s QNX OS, the user interface is minimal and intuitive, the system is WiFi capable, and Ford is first to bring Over-the-Air (OTA) updates to mass market. Short review: hugely improved, and now quite slick.
Read it online at Autonet.
SYNC will have WiFi capabilities, allowing the driver to turn their car into a Hotspot (use WPA2 WiFi security – never connect your car to a public network, and remember you’re legally responsible for Hotspot users.)

Remember – YOU are legally responsible for those using your Hotspot, here.

I’ll update a bit, but I’ve been really into vacation-mode for the first time. I even had a nap on December 27! A _nap_.
So I’m going to stay like this till next week, keep the same schedule as the rest of the world really. It’s a normal work-week over at the newspaper, and will update a bit here, but other than that, I’m waving hi from the couch and that’s that!
TTYS XO
Nice new patio set eh?!
I was working last week in my kitchen, hear banging on my back porch and it’s them, “hey Keri, we got you this, 5 chairs too, enjoy bye now!”
I have the best neighbours.
Google made this for me. It chose from all photos I uploaded this year, then cut them into 43 seconds of this.
I use Google+ for all my blog photos.
So if you go into my account here @KeriBlog, you can view my blog in only photos, divided by month & year. There’s almost 7,000 photos.
Not a bad follower-to-views ratio.
Terrible introduction though. I’m worse at Google+ than Facebook, which is horrible.

Security aside – Google+ made a similar video for me last year. Except that video included one private image, proving why to never upload a compromising photo; here’s the post.
(always remember, Google never forgets)
