Poor John's Fed Me

Poor John’s Cafe is a little place in Parkdale who gave themselves a facelift for their 5th Anniversary, congratulations!

I’ve been here a few times, before their transformation, at the behest of some locals… that’s how you know they’re good, local word-of-mouth. Likely has to do with their commitment to genuineness… John’s mom bakes the bread, Kristine is using her mom’s curry chicken recipes, like that.

Meet owners Khristine and John, their work ethic is impressive.

Below is chef Brenden, and what I recommend you order.

Go for the french toast or their signature sandwich the BAM – brie, avacado and mango. Those were my favourites and guys: you got me to eat fruit, good job, that’s tough to do.

Click here for their Facebook page, and they’re throwing a party December 11 which might be a nice place to take your date.

All day breakfast, liscensed, a summer patio, fair trade coffee and a free psychic reading the first Wednesday of each month.

(Lastly, in keeping with full disclosure, I was invited here and my meal paid for).

Just a Minute – No More Studio

Ahhh the studio, such good memories. Hi from Cherry Beach, love it here. I come here frequently and have for a long time.

There’s a punk bank who wrote a song about here, Career Suicide’s song Cherry Beach. And do you know what a Cherry Beach Express is?   I know, right?!  I’ve blogged about it before, on this day.  There’s even a song about it by The Pukka Orchestra, here’s the YouTube link. It was a Canadian chart hit in 1984, ha.

Sorry about how it’s hard to make out all my words here, being sick makes it hard to annunciate.

For those just meeting me, “my studio is my caaaaar” was a line I sung in my intro to my show.  See below for that.

The Last Day of Mo

Way to go to all you fellas for making Canada the largest financial contributor this year to men’s prostate cancer research in the world via Movember!  And last day for itchy face.

Went to the gala last Thursday where Casie and I were judges for “Best Mo in Character”.

This is us walking up and judging you.

Click here for her blog post, rich in photos.

I was talking with this guy who made a good point; Movember has changed the way men think about grooming and like, made it okay to get into it without feeling all metrosexual.

Below is the trio I wanted to win, but the Hulk won… turns out he always wins?!

Congratulations, Movember Foundation, here’s to your most successful year yet!

And have a great shave today fellas, don’t feel sad, it’s time ;)
