What the Florida Keys Looks Like

Neat filter on my photos, don’t you think.

I did it at the camera level with my PEN, it’s called “Pop Art”.

Florida has the best mini-putt courses.

The people who built the bridge to the Keys from the mainland, they lived on this little island in 1910.

The really really long bridge is here, the 7 Mile Bridge.

The one they blew up in the Shwartzenager movie , ‘True Lies’.

Manatees are the cutest.

Nickname: Sea Cow.  An un-official mascot of the Keys.  Everybody loves a Manatee.

It’s sad though, when you see them with chewed-up fins and gouges in their backs; they often swim too close too boats.

It’s not their fault, they’re too dumb to know better.

It’s the kind of place you can still leave your doors unlocked.

People don’t litter, people are friendly and funny, it’s safe, and all the nature is fiercely protected.

If you get to visit here, don’t be a d-bag.

The Largest Amount of Dinosaurs in the World

I’m pleased to report that
Canada sets another world record

Dinosaur Provincial Park

It’s just outside Brooks, Alberta in the badlands, or two hours from Calgary.

Imagine how international that makes Brooks in the summer? Archeologists from all over the world come to dig around.

3 FAST FACTS

  1. – more dinosaur species have been discovered here than anywhere else in the world
  2. – it was 75 million years ago dinosaurs were cruising around
  3. – the area was a warm moist climate, swamps and wetlands

The United Nations recognizes this as a world heritage site, YES Canada.

Get THIS: 1910-20 was the ‘Great Canadian Dinosaur Rush’; rival gangs of collectors raced and fought to find the best and most bones.

What do I do? Oh I’m a blackmarket dinosaur bone trader bwahaha.

Go Go Go Go Stop

My trip south is going excellent.

Myrtle Beach was great because where I owned the town… because there was no one there.

So I pretended it was like the apocalypse, and dressed appropriately.

If you’re going to go and want to see other humans, wait until at least February.

Then I moved from my week there.

And yesterday, I hit the wall.

I’ve still not learned moderation; that I can’t go 1000 km/h an hour for weeks on end without repercussions.

So I downloaded my first game on my iPhone – Words with Friends.

First Zynga game, and first game ever on my phone.

You know what a Zynga game is even if you don’t realize it: Words with Friends, Mafia Wars, Farmville (I will _never_).

Wrote some postcards.

And then I discovered the TV show, Burn Notice. OMFG

Have you ever heard me mention a TV show before?!? Exactly.

I inhaled the entire first season yesterday, I was “that girl” zoned out to Netflix (and it’s true, US Netflix is better than CDN Netflix by far).

It’s a spy show. Shocking eh, ;)

Take a look:

(couldn’t find the actual intro online, this is the closet thing I could).

Have a great Tuesday, wait till you see my new pants later today ohhhh yaaaaaa.

Hi from the South but Where is My Trunk?!

I was ahead of schedule (YES to my meticulousness), car packed up, far too excited to sleep, so I set off Thursday evening.

Then nah.

Let’s turn around and head back to Toronto.

Change in plans, let’s fly instead.

And that’s why I don’t have my trunk with me. Despite talking incessantly about it for 3 months. I love that trunk, I even made it its own blog catagory.

Ahhh the best laid plans.

So I took it to my storage unit, hauled it out of my car myself (I. Am. A. Beast).

Re-packed and reduced everything to two suitcases and a backpack.

Last adjustments Saturday morning.

And I’m off! Tweeted this photo to commemorate.

I always board last, I’ve mentioned this before. I don’t understand lining up to be first… you’re just going to have to sit there longer?!

Good things can happen when you board last… that’s how I got bumped up to First Class flying home from Alberta last week.

True story:

I have a lot of blog girl gear.

Changed planes. The Detroit airport is huuuge.

Taken just before initial descent, that’s how huge because I am high up.

Good airport advice:

Back up in the sky.

If you see that view in real life and if it doesn’t move you, you’re dead inside.

And I arrived!

Yes that’s McDonald’s, I went directly there off the plane. I’m predictable that way.

I’m pumped to share my trip with you!!

I have to figure out internet here, which I’m en route to do soon as I hit publish on this post.

TTYS
