Why I Don't Like Christmas, and a Moving Update

Short answer: Christmas makes a lot of people feel bad.

Brooks, Alberta has 120+ different nationalities living there!  I know come ON.

The Calgary airport (YYC FYI) is quite nice, there’s even an F-18 simulator.

Nope, not travelling with any hunting bounty, antlers, ha.

By pure luck and I was upgraded to First Class on the way home, look how excited I am, thank you T ;)

You’re offered a choice of 3 meals, eaten with real silverware, finished off with warm cookies baked fresh in the sky, and look how I had my feet up. That’s luxery.

Good Twitter profile pic eh, looks like I’m yelling my tweets at you.

Just changed it though, no more holiday stuff. Click here to see the new one.

Here’s my trunk containing everything I own (plus my backpack of computer/camera gear).

You bet I did a dry run… imagine if my trunk didn’t fit in my car?

What’s the solution to that?

I don’t know either. Fainting.

And please tweet / email / comment / anything me if you have a suggestion about how I can keep my cel number while paying as little as possible.  I’ll be back when the snow melts.

Kay gotta run, work to do, TTYT

Me Laughing REALLY Hard

My brother can make me laugh ridiculously hard.

He called my phone one night at 11:30pm, and until midnight, this was me.

I knew it was wrong to be so loud that late, we but we could not stop.

My laugh carries, it just comes out that way.

Years ago I was laughing in a parking lot, when three floors up someone’s head pops out the window, “Keri? I recognized your laugh” and hello, an old friend I hadn’t seen in years.

Watch Canadians Lose Their Minds

Blogging my hat yesterday made me daydream about wandering around the Olympics in it.

This is when we won the Gold in Hockey, our 16th Gold, more than any other country EVER.

GO CANADA GO!

I was making videos for Sun Media, writing for Vancouver 24 Hours newspaper, running around looking good because Canada Goose kitted me out… Van2010 was the best.

This was my final article.

I love how this was known around the wolrd as “The Party Olympics”.

Simultaneously, we set the record for the most gold medals ever won at a Winter Olympics.  Sums us up pretty well, eh?

This was our coming out party, Canada!

It’s important to keep this patriotic momentum going; we’ve been humble for long enough about being the best country in the wold.

You know those times when you got goosebumps during the Games, or when your eyes welled up?  When you were holding your breath and forgetting to blink while you willed us to victory?

That feeling, that’s the one that needs to be celebrated and screamed a little louder.

I don’t want to leave here.  I want to live in this bubble forever.

Thank you Vancouver, for showing me the time of my life.

See you soon.
I’m so coming back.

xoxo,
Keri

(sidenote: kay woah – I don’t know where all my Olympic blog photos went, my heart is beating fast now, but pretty sure they’re around here somewhere… when that site got ported over to WordPress from SquareSpace it wasn’t easy. Sorry I’ll get to cleaning it up).

Anyway.

There’s much more I could tell you about this episode, but soon soon, because…

COMING SOON: The Canadian Explorer: Director’s Cuts

Here’s a good post I did here on KeriBlog about the Olympics last summer.

Welcome to My Newly Built Home Online

The design started in my head Spring 2010.

It started out like this:

Then I went on a couple URL buying sprees (click here and here).

The core and guts were built over a long weekend, and while it looks simple, it was not. I changed hosting providers at the same time, too. There was a lot happening, and this was a few weeks into having just moved, and living out of my trunk.

Various stages of development.

Before being ported over to KeriBlog.com, the new site was built under this URL, HAHA:

The Canadian Explorer was migrated over and converted from SquareSpace to WordPress, something I always wanted but didn’t think I’d ever get… for those of you not living full time in nerd world, that is a really big deal. Thanks Vito!  If you’re lucky, he’ll help you too.

It’s the most beautful thing I’ve practically ever seen, do you even know HOW long I’ve been looking at this in my head.

So I documented its creation.

It’s really coming along, click to see :) —–> KeriBlog.com
