I've Tested $1 Million in Cars

I’ve been keeping a spreadsheet since last fall.  Couple weeks ago, I hit my goal of $1 million.

(There’s more, if you count the $88,000 at Test Fest)

I broke in 4 of them (first driver, see *), and may hold the record for the longest duration with one press car (4 weeks).

Not sure what my next goal is, I’m just pleased I hit this one before the year’s end (sub-goal).

(note – in the auto journalist world, $1 million is not a lot)

These are Called Wheel Locks

They’re specialized lug nuts for your wheels and rims. You put one on each wheel, the remaining nuts are the normal ones.

They must be unlocked with a key before they can be removed.

They deter theft, not prevent it.

They can still be removed without the key, just takes longer.

A skilled team of thieves will approach a car, and 1 minute later be gone with all four tires and rims, leaving your car on blocks.  And if you have nice rims and tires, see you later 1000s of dollars.
