This is a Gated Shifter

Not into them.

I’m not 100% on the logic behind it, something like: because the engine is so precisely tuned, imperfect shifting causes damage. Except I found it caused poor shifting.

Why: 3rds 3rd, just let me put it there, it’s the same elbow-wrist-flick forever, why is this metal stopping me, my rhythm is now broken, and attention removed from the road, and that high-pitched ding noise when it happens, awful.

Ferrari used to use them extensively, but today…

Only 2 cars offer a gated shifter:

1 – Audi R8 (above)

2 – Lamborghini Gallardo

Best Part of Attending a Race: Borrowing an ATV

Watching motorsports is dull. Even when you know someone to root for, meh. The start and finish of the first race are okay, then nah.

Racing is only interesting when
you’re behind the wheel.

So spent Sunday on this instead.

Started pining for an ATV this summer, and this is a nice one.

And now that I own land, it’s possible.

I’m coming across a field at 40 kmh, am 300 m from homebase, when from that distance I see all the guys eyes widen simultaneously, and I instantly know, “oh no, I’ve forgotten about that second rut in the field”.

I look down, ah I’m starting descent into it, throttle throoooottle, and when I hit the water in the rut’s bottom it’s a massive 360º splash, so dramatic, think “what a missed blog photo”, bounce out keep going kk that was cutting it fine.

Miscellaneous Things From the Last Few Weeks

In no particular order:

This Week’s Flowers Thank you K XO

That’s a good friend to text me this.

She sure followed through.

People in the next town probably heard us laughing, we’re so loud.

I have a loud laugh.

Sorry to my neighbours.

This week’s car: 2015 Mazda MX-5 (Miata)

It’s the 25th Anniversary edition.

I’m good with this car because of the Mazda Adventure Rally, which will for sure be on my list, “Top 3 Best press trips of 2014′.

Finally found a worthy home for my Nancy Drew collection.

55 hardcore originals (35 lbs) that I’ve moved with 1,000 times. Parents: you can’t go too west feeding your young lady this series.

Go for Keri.

Last of my blue dress for 2014.

Tada.
