Use my Tricks to Conquer Road Rage

I rarely get worked up while behind the wheel, here’s how and why.

Try my 6 tricks for overcoming road rage:

  1. apply these 2 types of logic,
  2. car dancing,
  3. talking on the phone,
  4. people watching,
  5. my last trick is the best one.

Read it online at Autonet.

Favourite line:

The last trick is my most devious one – I pretend I’m a puppet master.

More Road Etiquette, Please

I set out to investigate a trend of ticketing slow left lane drivers, but the story morphed into one about the road manners.

Or as Officer Stibbe corrects me, “no Keri, it’s about lack thereof.

Read it online at Autonet.

Favourite line:

Last 3 paragraphs, Stibbe’s one-liner, I burst out laughing.

Funeral Procession Etiquette

It’s not a hearse, it’s a “funeral coach.”

Read it online at Autonet.ca.

Favourite line:

Try this trick; imagine how the person in the casket would give anything to trade places with you, and be the one stuck in traffic.

Two favourites this week.

It’s in your best interest to give the procession a wide berth, because this is a line of distracted drivers.

Really though, be kind to a passing funeral.

I received a bunch of emails this week – when you honk and get angry at a procession, it can haunt someone for 20 years.

Thanks for taking the time Bruce, of Humphrey Funeral Home.

Tip the Valet Twice

Favourite lines:

“I tip on drop-off” should only be uttered while en route to retrieve your car yourself.

and:

Or don’t. Continue to broadcast an air of cheap, keep defending how you’re sticking it to minimum-wage-guy – the one to whom you’ve just entrusted your second most valuable possession.

I loved this column.

I approached this scientifically, and think I proved indeed, the valet should be tipped twice.

Guess the paper agreed, this was my largest cover-page mention yet.

I love when they say, “our columnist.” Our.

Christmas Roads = Most Dangerous Roads

Statistically, the most hazardous road conditions are the 2 weeks around Christmas.

Why? Rural drivers on urban roads, aggression, scattered minds and so much late braking.

Favourite line:

I’m sure outside the car these are all nice people, but as drivers they terrify me. Everyone gets an extra wide berth from me, my gift to all.
