5 Cars to Watch in 2014

Filmed at this year’s Canadian International Auto Show, check out these favourites if you’re shopping for a new car this year.

As they appear:

– 2014 Buick Regal GS
Jaguar anything
– Chevy’s MyLink infotainment system
– 2015 Nissan’s Micra
– 2015 Audi A3

Smells so good inside an auto show.

Celebrating the Olympics through Dance

One of my favourite Olympic episodes – dancing with Spandy Andy.

Spandy Andy is a local Vancouver celebrity, from his bio:

I travel the world dancing in SPANDEX. Learn more about my TIGHT BRIGHT philosophy by visiting SpandyAndy.com

I’d dragged a guy out of the newsroom to film us. But after security kicked us out, he got scared and abandoned the shoot.

So I did this.

Didn’t think twice, it was that kind of atmosphere, genuinely happy.

Filmed in the epicentre of the Games.

Spandy Andy has gone on to do quite well for himself.

He was on Think You Can Dance’, a regular performer at MarineWorld, and his Youtube has 10.3 million views, nice Andy. Here’s his Twitter.

How to Play the ‘Laser Through the Crowd’ Game

The object is: to make it to the destination fast as possible, travelling only straight through the crowd. No moving on the fringe, no running.

Points are deducted if any person or object touches you.

Points are added for cool moves, like, squeezing untouched through an impossible space as it closes, or fancy footwork.

This is an ideal game board:

The ‘Laser Through the Crowd’ Game
Makes a boring walk, not

Spot the filming camera.

I’m pretty good at moving through crowds, like a laser beam. That’s where I got the name from. Helps that I’m little.

A $215,000 Snow Shower

It’s a 2014 Audi R8 V10 plus Coupé.

A 5.2 L engine, outputting 550 hp and 398 lbs-ft, 0 to 100km in 3.5 seconds, and a top speed of 319 km/h.

Driving is Motoring TV‘s Russ Bond, I’ve introduced you before.

We were at a Young Driver’s event on Sunday.

Paul Reid was there too, capturing better quality footage for Motoring, while I captured a nice photo of Paul.

Which I’m good at; ha Paul, that photo is still funny.

Jumping on a Trampoline

“Pointed toes and everything” ha. Skills left over from when I was a kid.

This was at Canadian Tire’s spring media preview.

8 minutes of bouncing = running 1 mile

This is a new type of trampoline: no springs.

Just as bouncy, far safer for fingers, stuff can’t get caught.

Ever see that happen? I once saw a girl, with really long untied hair, practically scalp herself, I physically cringed while typing that.

It’s Rosie MacLennan, 2012 Olympic Gold
& current World Trampoline Champion!

So humble, and doing her masters, and she actually works at Canadian Tire! (sorry about the poorly lit photo missy).

Watch her Olympic Gold routine.
