My Cycling Team is Top in Ontario AGAIN!

Once again my cycling team is tops in Ontario, YES fellas.

My team are O-cup racers, which means, they compete against the top cyclists in the province.

From last week at the 43rd Annual Springbank race in London Ontario, here’s teammate Nick…

A 40km race around a 2.2km loop (so 18 times around), all in the freezing rain (that wasn’t the best Sunday weather that day).

During the last lap he pulled ahead of eeeeeveryone…

And then:

Tada! FIRST PLACE!

Congratulations Nick! You’re killing it!

900km in 24hrs

I don’t like missing out on things, so sometimes adventures like this happen.

Boarded a train. Saw this machine in the middle of Union Station (did you know there used to be a shooting range there?).

Started this book. So far so great.

Fatal System Error by Joseph Menn

Went to a party and then another with a lot of old friends, and now some new ones, many of whom pick me up when they hug me, which I love.

Tried this for the first time. Meh.

At 4am I got out of one car and into another.

Hi from Hamilton, it’s cycling race day!

This is the Good Friday Road Race hosted by Canada’s oldest cycling club – The Hamilton Club.

You can better see the course in my episode, Exploring Cycling, because I filmed from the back of the pace car.  It’s set to some beautiful classical music.

It’s a 55km race, average speed was 37km/hr, takes 90 minutes.

It was so cold out (and ya it’s April, but remember the good weeks in March? Also, watch my weather video for why it’s good it’s cold in Canada)

Waiting for the results. Sleep dep FTW.

BOOM FIRST!

WTG Nick and great team work fellas.

Came home to a home cooked meal even, then I slept for a while the end.

First Cycling Race of the Season

Sunday it was off to Calabogie Motorsports Track with my team for 2011’s first OCA race.

The boys did great, way to go fellas!

And just like both years past (this is my 3rd season having a team under my Canadian Explorer brand) I underdressed and had to wear Nate’s clothes.  The large arrow above is pointing at Nate.

I have there carbon fiber knuckles, ha.

Last year I stood all zipped up like that for an entire lap, laughing my head off inside the zipper yelling, “this is how I cheer!“.

Hello, I'm President

On Friday I went to the bike show here in town and reinstated my Presidency. I went around all week saying as much, “ya I’m just reinstating my presidency”, ha.

Click here for a better photo from last week of my team members, because look, all the camera went to meeeeeee.

This’ll be my third year at this, and my team is riding for The Canadian Explorer again.

Click to watch, Exploring Cycling.  Not gonna embed that twice in one week, seems tacky.

Here’s to a great season fellow riders!

I'm a Great Toronto Tour Guide

A couple members of my cycling team were in town today.

If you were to come to town, I’d take you to California Sandwiches.

When I first moved here I was hooked, no, like 4 times a week for dinner, by the end there I could eat two. I gained at least 15 pounds… I’ve got some footage somewhere of me losing it a little, “I moved to Toronto and got f*cking huge, THAT’s how it all came to be”.

That footage is from an episode you’ve never seen, and that I’ve hidden somewhere on the internet; clues coming soon.

This season will be my 3rd year having a team, and 2nd as president.  I’ll post my cycling episode at the bottom.

Then I’ll take you wherever it is you’d like to go while pointing out interesting things along the way….  this corner is one of the busiest in North America (Bay & Front)… here’s where I did my best curb hop on my bike ever… this is one of the largest carrier houses in North America.

I’m a lot of fun to drive with.

Wouldn’t that be funny if that was actually my suitcase? That set of wheels is $5000.

Two things I saw and wanted:

Candy that’s good for you… JellyBelly’s with vitamins in them COME ON.

And that’s a Jetboil… I’ve had this idea where I can feed myself very nutrionally between one of those and a Magic Bullet.

I was telling the sales guy about my idea, but he said you’re not supposed to cook inside with them, the fumes will get to you. I hadn’t thought of that at all.  They run off butane.

Hope you had a good day, too!
