I’m pretty jinxy about the way I start a new year, like, it sets the tone for the year ahead. Start as you mean to go on.

The last 5 years:

2009 – stayed home and uploaded My ‘Canadian Explorer’ Manifesto
2010 – went to the ROM to see the Dead Sea Scrolls
2011 – went to a casino
2012 – played pool and went into nature
2013 – worked, cheers’d some strangers, went for a drive

Have a few possibilities lined up for tomorrow, not yet sure which I’ll choose.

Inside Google Canada

One morning last week, a couple newspapers and my blog were invited to Google.

So flattered and excited; above.

Bright colours, open-concept-fun-atmosphere, the pool table room is where’d I’d be, then oh, let’s have our meeting in this tent.

It was a presentation about their auto division, which is growing fast.

Remember my column about ‘Uber Car Service’? Google just bought them for $250 million.

Learned about how people search and behave while shopping for cars. That’ll be it’s own post, or potentially a ‘Keri on Driving‘ column, still deciding.

See top right? That’s a camera recording our meeting. It was not mentioned, I just happened to notice. Maybe at Google it’s just expected that you’re on camera always.

To Nashville with Nissan

Nashville, Tennessee – where the all-new 2014 Nissan Rogue is built; that’s why there.

I’ve always liked this city, here’s the blog tag.

Jeremy Sinek and I were drive partners again, I’ve introduced you before. We are hilarious.

We found this odd, movie-set-town inside the city; fake-land.

Not being a fan of music, the best of this city is lost on me.

Still fun night out with the auto journalist gang.

Some of us became obsessed with this street magician; he was so good, I’ll put him in his own post later this week. He put a cigarette out into my shirt.

Brand-new hotel, the Omni, it’s 2 weeks old new.

Which is how this came to be…

Cesspool! Usually soon as I enter the room, that thing gets ripped off and kicked in a corner.

That’s a video in the middle, re-embedding now.

Bit of a cheap editing trick a bit, but still kinda neat, the page looked just like it. All the sticky-notes were image-mapped wait again, that still may be my ‘About’ page here… brb… … ya it is. Kay that’s bad.

I came across this old blog, while working on the new one.

I have 8 ‘About’ pages to polish now, then sidebar images to amalgamate and create. Expect a post with a sidebar collage. It’s all about the sidebar.
