Me and Ford and the LA Autoshow

I met Ford back in the summer when I test drove their new Focus for a day, the one that…. parks itself. No really, watch:

Then back in July my car broke down on the highway out of town. I’d tweeted as much from the side of the road, and Ford messaged me back they were sending me a car to Kingston so I could get home safe.

They sent me this Lincoln, which is their higher end line of cars. It’s an MKX and people on the street tell you you’re “ballin” when you cruise around.

And since then we’ve been pals, and just yesterday returned to them their 2012 Focus.

Really glad to be here Ford, thanks eh :)

Hi From Los Angeles

Ford contacted me last month, would I like to go to the LA Autoshow? Yes please.

I’ll be here till Thursday, 72 hours-ish.

In the airport check-in line I hear, “Keri?!!” I turn around and there is Jeff, from my old Canadian Explorer days, and who turns around to show me he’s got my pin on his bag, amazing! Jeff that was awesome, great to meet ya IRL.

Let’s see what else…

I’m in my new home for 2 weeks now, settled, and a second giant purge is happening… I still own too much stuff, and turns out purging is addictive.

Looking forward to getting that video finished, ‘That Time I Gave Away Everything I Own’. I could really use some editing help, lmk if you ever feel like helping out with some Final Cut stuff.

Have you seen my new KeriBlog site? It’s like the mothership for all things Keri online…. I’ll tell you about it in a video on OtherKeriBlog, I am SO pumped. It’s been in my head for years, and now, it’s alive.

It still needs attention, and not everything is running perfectly, soon soon, this was a giant undertaking. Thanks for changing your bookmarks and RSS link (LINK TO RSS)

Note my new show!!

Ha! Makes sense, it was only a matter of time… I did have a show for three years, staring my car, right down to the theme song remember? Da da da da da daaaaaa…

Hmmm, what else…

I was ‘randomly selected’ for a more intense screening at the airport. I’m randomly selected every time. The border guard and I talked cars, and I offered to link to him from my blog to his, but he was kidding and doesn’t really have a blog. I’ve got a half-drafted post about going through customs for ‘Keri on Security’; I’ll tell you some of my tricks I’ve devised over the years.

There’s a party for the Ford Mustang tonight, a full day at the show tomorrow and then an event at the Bel Air Hotel tomorrow night, for which I brought my tux.

Going to the party now, talk to you on Twitter.

My Last 24 Hours

Guys woah, until it’s ALL GONE, all of it, you don’t realize how reliant you are on electronic communication until you literally have none.

I went to 2 McDonald’s and a Starbucks, I tried my guts out to get this online… coming soon PROPER TOOLS: an iPhone I can tether to an Air, a laptop that’s just my size.

Regarding my new site well, I’ve been building it in my imagination for 2 years, and it’s as good.  The unveiling is later this week, and, maybe my favourite news, The Canadian Explorer is finally getting the home it deserves.

Here’s my home for the next two months.

My trunk in the GLI.

I have a lot of purging to do, still. You have to be ruthless I’ve learned.

And the video ‘I Own Only One Trunk’ well, is still unedited, there’s been no time… it’s a rhythm I still haven’t found yet, but I’m getting closer.

I’m excited to edit that one, I had a lot of fun with The Emporium, the whole experience, and I have more to say about the experience, which was kinda weird.

Things From This Tuesday

I found a place to live YA buddy.

Tweeted this:

There’s a market for: furnished apartment / condos on short term leases in downtown Toronto, which are geared toward the individual, not a corporation.  You could make an alright dollar in that game.

I cut it close, and homeless-in-6-days comes with some heaviness.  This nomad-lifestyle will take a bit ironing out, to find a system… but for now I’m good till the end of the year YES.

I’ll probably lalala at the camera about this.  I’ve been composing the episode, “So I Gave Away All My Stuff”.

See text.

Got my toes done.

Chose the purple, which I was told is the colour of the Vietnamese ‘Clock Flower’, a special little guy that opens in the morning, then closes at night.

The tinfoil was intended to protect the polish during my walk home in sneakers, but don’t do it, it flakes into tiny bits, only agree to saran wrap for this.

Filming this past weekend.

Really was having some sad moments of missing the studio.

I’m being outsmarted by my dishwasher (can’t turn it on?), and I mass-updated my I Am Not a Hippie blog.

Kay TTYL, have a great night!!
