It’s Far Tougher to Get Licensed in Germany

Over there they’re taught to drive,

Favourite line:

There has to be something to Germany’s methods if its drivers are travelling at twice the speed, but with a lower accident rate.

I also like how it’s more expensive, because people tend to take things more seriously when they have to pony up big bucks.

What is an Enhanced Driver’s Licence?

It costs about $40, and an Enhanced Driver’s License (EDL) can be used instead of a passport when crossing the border by car.

However! It’s embedded with an RFID tag, meaning, protect it by using an RFID-shielding wallet, like this. Take this seriously, Saskatchewan abandoned EDLs because of the potential security breach.

1 Driver’s Test every 64 years?!

It’s odd to me, that with arguably one of the most dangerous things we all do, we’re tested once when we’re 16, then not again until we’re 80… that’s a 64-year spread?!

Read it online here.
