How to Shift Gears

You can move a car using only the clutch, and that’s Step #1.  That’s the “bite point,” your new BFF.

As is the emergency brake when parking, manual cars don’t have a “park gear” like automatics.

That 'Grinding the Gears' Sound

When you “grind the gears” while shifting,
the sound is these two plates rubbing together.
