Fast 3rd Day Rally Update

Started off rocky, we were in last place, 10/10.

But we clawed back up to tie for 5th overall!

AND I drove the ‘Tail of the Dragon’.

That is a fortunate thing to be able to type. And it was AAAAAMAZING. 318 curves in 11 miles, in the rain at that. Attacked.

Really really great day. Really really wiped.

Another 12 hours on the road, got so lost, hours worth of lost, then dinner, and now I’m finishing up my story for the paper tomorrow, and my column is due tomorrow as well.

Hence the coles-notes version for now, and will catch you this weekend on the final day. I fly out at 7am tomorrow.

Here’s where this post came from, in my new goggles.

And David made me put the top down, and exposed me to the orb.

Back from 5 Days in Mexico

Arrived Thursday night, worked Friday, finished at 6:30pm, and then I didn’t open my laptop again till now.

I checked my phone a handful times for emergencies, but I was offline 99% offline. Barely even documented, for either folder.

Hola.

Now that’s a MegaCurtain.

Such graininess in the photo below. I’m still convinced that cel phone cameras come with built-in degradation.

Last time I blogged that, it spurned some good IRL debates with good sources, but still not sold.

This dress was in this gift bag xo S.

Like how I sit at the beach?

Hi hi from my towel-nest.

I’m always cold.  And inside, where the A/C is cranked to 11 omg; by the end of a dinner I can’t feel below my shins.

Only thing I bought while gone.

It was a great break, and nice to be back online.

Goodmorning, I missed you.

I Came South, and Don’t Even Like the Sun

I don’t.  I hide from it.

I’m like a future person that way.

If you follow my Twitter you’re familiar with me bugging you to wear sunscreen.  If you’ve been bugged, that’s good, means it’s working.

I wear 60SPF every day, even in the winter. The sun reflects off the snow and intensifies it, remember that.

My perfect temperature is: sweater over a sun dress in the day, warm up at night, cute shoes at any time because no snow.

It’s been aaaaamazing for the creative part of my brain to have left Toronto for a bit, changed my environment. It gets tough to constantly see new in the old and familiar, you know?

Next up: decorate my sidebars.

Then: I decided to build my new blogs on WordPress, not Posterous like I was going to, because I need to control the sidebars.

If you are even thinking, “I’d like to have my own blog”, yes do it, and use Posterous.

I built my Hippie blog using Posterous. Have you popped over there lately?  It might amuse you for a few sips of coffee – IAmNotAHippie.com

Look where I went, holy crap I love these places.

How do they get the ships in the bottle??

Answer: they are built with hinged masts, lying flat against the boat. Tie a piece of string around the top of each mast. Slide the thing into the bottle, pull the string, raise the masts, magic.

Now I’m going to tag this post with the phrase above that’s bolded.  I’m doing this in hopes when someone googles that phrase, they’ll find my blog.  And that’s what SEO is: Search Engine Optimization.

I’ll leave you with a few more photos.

The best part about these type of photos is they make a blog look so happy.

Have a great Friday!
