Matte paint is en vogue right now. Looks great, but it’s high maintenance because it’s a porous paint.

But it does broadcast the driver has a disposable income, to both purchase and maintain it.

Below is BMW’s ‘Frozen’ paint.

So pretty, no touching.

Very few manufacturers offer a matte paint option. Mercedes also does a beautiful job.

And so does Hyundai!

The only manufacturer to offer a matte paint on a non-luxury car.

Available on the Veloster for $800-ish; that’s thousands less than the ones you see above.

Pink on the rear, teal on the front, all are factory rims that have been painted.

Non-car nerds: coloured rims are loved by the tuner crowd.

Here’s a proper painted rim.

If you’re going to drive on coloured rims they need to be really nice, which is why painting factory ones is funny.

BMW 7 Series are already so big, why bigger? What are you transporting that’s so large?

L stands for unnecessesary.
