I'm Driving a Honda Fit This Week

Picked it up yesterday.  I was expecting it to be the smallest car I’ve ever driven. Except it’s not small at all, it deceived me. I’ll show you better later, when I have more time.

It’s my favourite security guard, Joe! Welcome back to my blog.

When I walked into his office, he said he had something for me. Then pulled this out of his desk drawer.

That’s Honda’s star Indy racer Alex Tagliani.

Back in July I arrived to pick up a car, and walked into a celebration of Indy, how’s that for accidental great timing. Even better, I’d never seen this photo.

Joe said he came here looking for my email, to let me know he’d picked this up, but couldn’t find it OMG that’s bad blogging.  Look top right in my sidebar now Joe, that’s you.

Clean ergonomics, and excellent hazard button placement.

I judge all cars by their hazard buttons, which I use a lot when driving to control the space around me.

Look at the difference in your view by putting down the rear headrest.

If you see a red blur around town this week wave hi, because The. Fit. Is. Go!

 

 

My First Autonet Article

Autonet.ca is Sun Media’s automotive site. News, reviews, videos and used car listings from across Canada.

My article, “Puma Fashion Dresses up MINI” was the leading story going into the weekend.

My 1st ‘Keri on Driving’ Column is Published

Tada! It’s called “Keri on Driving.”

300,000 printed, and that’s the circulation number, not the readership :D

It was a rush, seeing my name and words I’d written all printed down the page.

I’m proud of my first one, I like it.  Thanks for the emails from you guys saying so too, and nice to meet you!

I was beside myself all day. 30 seconds after my eyes opened, I was out the door to the closest orange box. I ripped out that one and carried it around with me all day in my purse. It’s still in there.

My hand position here belies the butterflies in my stomach.

Now the trick is to keep it going, quality every week, learning to write well under that under-the-gun-all-eyes-on feeling.

I tried to give myself a head start.  I’ve kept a list in my phone of car article ideas forever, I have 40. This was me last weekend organizing them.  Next week we’ll talk about pedestrians, and something else.

Of course I blurred out the printing, otherwise you too would have good car article ideas.

I tried to collect copies all day, went looking on a walk last night, I ended with up only three. The Sun circulates.
