How Wind Detaches Itself is Important

I thought once the wind got to the rear of the car, it just broke off and went on its way, who cares.

Nope.

The rear of a car is designed to detach the wind resistance very precisely. Otherwise, the wind creates drag, or it gets sucked back under the car, pulling the car in the opposite direction.

The formula is:

Top speed = horsepower / wind resistance
